Packing List for Treatment
Once your admission is confirmed, packing takes only a short time when you know what to bring. Plan for a week of comfortable clothing, your ID and insurance cards, and any current prescriptions in their original bottles. Leave valuables, alcohol, and unapproved medications at home. Arrival day is simpler than you expect.
Packing List for Treatment, The Details
On the morning you arrive at Bradshaw Recovery, someone will walk you through intake and go over the bag you brought, so packing well ahead of time takes one worry off the day. Keep it simple and practical.
Bring these:
- Comfortable clothing for about a week, plus a sweater or layers since indoor temperatures vary
- A photo ID and your insurance card
- Any current prescriptions in their original, labeled bottles so our medical staff can verify them
- Basic toiletries, ideally alcohol-free
- A small amount of cash and a phone number list in case you cannot access your phone right away
Leave these at home:
- Alcohol, non-prescribed medications, and anything containing them (like mouthwash)
- Valuables and expensive jewelry
- Weapons or sharp objects
If you are unsure about a specific item, pack it aside and ask at intake. It is easier to leave something with a family member than to sort it out later. You do not have to get this perfect. Bring what you can, and we will help with the rest.
